Virgin Australia ( ASX:VAH) has awarded pay rises to one thousand short haul pilots.
The resolution brings to an end the eighteen month negotiation between management and the unions.
Pay rises of around thirty per cent will be rolled out over the next three years.
The outcome, achieved without industrial action, comes in sharp contrast to the recent damaging disputes at rival airline, Qantas.
Virgin Australia is undergoing to overhaul to present itself as a upmarket airline, to compete directly for Qantas business passengers.
Virgin Australia ( ASX:VAH) last reported a $23 million net profit.
