I am surprised about the governance, risk and compliance and the fiduciary duty of Directors given that VAH was not suspended from trade today as VAH and Tiger might be having solvency issues if they cannot issue refunds until after 30 days after admitting fault see below.

If they are unable to give refunds unlike after a month, can they be solvent under Australian law? Sounds and smells a lot like Ansett Australia. Interesting to see what SGH and Maurice Blackburn will do with regards the Directors

Thousands of holiday plans are in turmoil as the Tigerair stoush drags into a second day, with further flights between Australia and Bali cancelled.

Flights between Denpasar and Melbourne, Perth or Adelaide have all been cancelled on Thursday and early Friday morning, leaving holidaymakers stranded in Bali.
Tigerair claimed a new 'administrative change' imposed by the Indonesian government forced the immediate flight suspensions.
But a spokesperson for the Indonesian transport ministry said the airline had breached its licence over ticketing arrangements, and claims the airline should not be issuing one-way tickets.

'[Tigerair] did not meet the rule for chartered flights,' spokesman, Agoes Soebagio, said.
'They should not sell tickets in the territories of Indonesia.'
Tigerair had claimed the airline complied by all regulations until the government imposed an 'administrative change' which caused the immediate flight suspensions.
'Tigerair was and is in compliance with all original conditions imposed by the Indonesian Government on the operation of its Bali services,' the airline said in a statement.
'Tigerair is working with the relevant Indonesian authorities to meet the new requirements as soon as possible.'
But Indonesian aviation expert Gerry Soegatman said Tiger would have already known about the regulation or was given bad advice, he told ABC.
It's understood the issue is not safety related.

The Indonesian government has imposed new administrative requirements for the operation of its flights between Bali and Australia
'Customer service wasn't open for an hour after we got the text, and when we did get onto them, they didn't really know what was happening.'
The 22-year-old said this cancellation was the second time time her flight to Bali was cancelled.
'We were booked to go to Bali with AirAsia in September last year but they also cancelled. We re-booked with Tiger for today and this was the result.'
She say Tigerair offered to book her on another flight, but she instead chose to fly with another airline.
'We've been issued a refund, but have been told it will take two weeks to go back into our account,' the 22-year-old told Daily Mail Australia.
'No compensation for petrol costs, parking we had prepaid, loss of accommodation or anything else.'

Passengers waiting for upcoming flights either from Australia or from Bali have now been left wonder whether their travel plans will actually go ahead

Pity for VAH and great for AIZ that there are Class Action Law firms around like SGH to see through the poor compliance and actions of VAH Directors.
