Hi Dull
You seem mightily disappointed with the prospective demise of Tatts (which has obviously treated you well). Perhaps look at the new Tabcorp as a bigger and better version of Tatts. All Tabcorp are really doing is bolting TTS onto their company, getting the benefits of TABs they don't currently control and of course adding the cash cow of the lotteries. The new company, I believe, will better able to withstand the onslaught of the foreign raiders than TTS and TAH separately could ever have done.
Contrary to what another poster has said, I don't believe that the ACCC will block the merger. The Australian companies face a real challenge from overseas and can surely only remain competitive with the likes of William Hill and Ladbrokes if they merge as proposed.
