Transfield Services Ltd (ASX:TSE) well services and construction business, Easternwell, has inked a deal with Fortescue Metals Group Ltd (ASX:FMG).
Under the contract Easternwell will provide Fortescue with drilling services and equipment for its mining operations in Western Australia.
While the value of the deal has not been revealed Transfield Managing Director and CEO Peter Goode says the contract is a strategically significant win as it establishes a relationship with Fortescue, one of Australia’s major mining and exploration companies.
Earlier this week Transfield Services Ltd (ASX:TSE) said it had sold its North American facilities maintenance business, USM, for $US255 million.
The company has also confirmed that it expects to deliver mid-single digit percentage growth on the normalised net profit of $96 million in the 2011 financial year.
In the first half of its 2011 financial year, Transfield Services recorded a net profit of $14 million.
