Thomson Resources (ASX:TMZ) has commenced an airborne electromagnetic survey over its Havilah, Lachlan Downs, Furneys and Kenilworth targets in the Lachlan Fold Belt in New South Wales.
The survey is targeting volcanogenic massive sulphide deposits with potential for copper-lead-zinc-gold-silver, and will also target tin-tungsten mineralisation at Wilgaroon, as it is expected to be associated with conductive pyrrhotite.
The Havilah base and precious metal project is located within Silurian rocks of the eastern Lachlan Fold Belt, known for VMS deposits such as Woodlawn, Captains Flat, Lewis Ponds and Sunny Corner.
Previous work has defined zinc, lead, gold and silver anomalism in soil and rock chip sampling coincident with a strong sericite-pyrite-silica alteration zone.
Historical drilling to the south of the main alteration zone also intersected anomalous lead, zinc and gold.
The area features several distinct magnetic anomalies which have never been comprehensively drill tested.
The Furneys target lies 33 kilometres north of the CBH mine at Endeavor near Cobar. Surface lead-zinc anomalism extends for over 600 metres and has been lightly drilled, with several holes returning significant lead-zinc-silver anomalism.
Thomson issued 1.2 million shares at $0.06 to acquire this project in March, an indication of the value placed on it by Thomson and the vendors.
Thomson is currently trading at just $0.017.
Now with 100% control of the project, Thomson retains 100% of any upside from a significant discovery, and is modestly capitalised at around $2 million.
