  1. Talisman Mining (ASX:TLM) is moving higher following the commencement by JV partner Sandfire Resources (ASX:SFR) of the first phase of exploration at the Springfield Project as part of Sandfire's $15 million farm-in.

    Shares in the company have jumped from $0.091 last week to an intra-day high of $0.155 today, and last fetched $0.15.

    The JV covers Talisman’s interests in the Springfield, Halloween and Halloween West Projects in Western Australia.

    Talisman’s Homer Prospect, located within the Springfield Project, lies immediately along strike, to the east from Sandfire’s DeGrussa Copper-Gold Mine and is interpreted to contain extensions of the volcanic rock which hosts the DeGrussa VMS system.

    Talisman is sitting on a $16.5 million cash balance, to go along with its $15 million exploration joint venture with Sandfire.

    The company is capped at around $18 million.
