Tabcorp Holdings Limited (ASX:TAH) will make a $20 million payment to the Queensland state government to extend its existing keno license to 2047.
The decision was announced by Queensland Premier Campbell Newman last night in Brisbane and extends an existing license that expires in 2022.
Tabcorp CEO David Attenborough says Keno is a very important part of Tabcorp’s diverse portfolio, having contributed $36.7 million of the gaming company’s first half pre tax earnings.
Mr Attenborough says the license adds further longevity to Tabcorp’s license structure.
Tabcorp Holdings generated a net profit of $72.9 million in the first half of fiscal 2013.
