RBC Capital Markets analyst Ben Wilson said the latest figures were solid and the company was well on its way to hitting a trading price of $8, valuing the company at $16.7 billion - $2.2 billion above the takeover bid price offered by US private equity firm Harbour Energy earlier this year.
“Our price target of $8 per share is premised on aggressive, but in our view achievable, growth ambitions,” Mr Wilson said. “We think the recent acquisition of Quadrant underscores the company's success in repairing its balance sheet.”
