Sealink Travel Group Limited (ASX:SLK) has bought a vessel to boost its Sydney Harbour fleet after its Captain Cook Cruises won new ferry contracts.
The contracts include transporting convention-goers to Glebe Island, as well as passenger transfers to and from Biennale art festival and ferry charters for Sydney Ferries.
Sealink paid just over $3 million for the 24 metre vessel, which has the capacity to hold up to 200 passengers.
Managing Director Jeff Ellison says two additional vessels are currently being constructed in Hobart and are due to be delivered in Sydney in May and June this year.
Sealink’s Sydney fleet will climb to 14 vessels once all of the new vessels are operational.
