ResMed Inc. (ASX:RMD) has increased its first half net profit by 32 per cent to $US149.2 million, up from $US113.4 million in the previous corresponding period.
CEO Peter Farrell says the company had finished its first half with an extremely robust quarter.
Net profit for its second quarter alone reached a record $US80 million, an increase of 24 per cent.
Dr Farrell believes Resmed’s continued market growth is being driven by the fact people are becoming aware of the benefits of sleep disorder treatrment.
According to Dr Farrell, regardless of the economic climate, the market remains focused on treatments that keep patients out of the hospital and healthy.
Resmed generated a net profit of $250 million for the 2012 financial year.
