Sydney - Tuesday - September 1: (RWE Australian Business News) - KarmelSonix Ltd (ASX:KSX) today announced GMHBA had become the first private health insurer in Australia to agree to provide a benefit to its members for the purchase of the Personal Wheezometer when it becomes available to the public later this year. Production of units for the Personal Wheezometer, which received TGA approval in May, has commenced and KarmelSonix expects the Personal Wheezometer will be available for purchase commencing the final quarter of 2009 with a variety of distribution channels being put into place. The company says the listing of the Personal Wheezometer as a claimable product through the private health insurance process will allow for significant penetration of the Personal Wheezometer into the community, where asthma affects up to 15pc of the Australian population including adults and children. Private health insurance in Australia covers 50pc of the population, so more than 1m asthma sufferers have some type of private health insurance coverage. ENDS
