Sorry to be a killjoy but the new news regarding the Lopez conundrum just showed things have got worse - Deuterte has announced that he'll be the next Secretary of DENG (and is expected to be confirmed) as he approves of all the things Gina has been trying to achieve ..... so, her policies and practices have been confirmed and unless El Presidente is speaking out of both sides of his mouth, the issue is settled, and the Phillipines anti mining stance has been entrenched with no likely changes till post Deuterte .... and who knows Gina may be the next president. OGC has the fire power to engage in protracted legal processes and in the meantime will be able to continue mining, especially the UG ... but other miners placed in limbo like RED5 will remain there as the ban on the development of all open new open pits and associated infrastructure like tailings dam will remain, meaning the value of 'prospects' are rendered essentially worthless if open pit mining is required .... time to get out of the Phillipines permanently. The bearish outlook for gold will accelerate the SP declines when this new reality finally sinks in. OGC should return its 'environmental awards' as they are clearly worthless.
