That’s a cop out in my books the meters of habitats that are being added should not form part of the equation. The miles of Habitats that we’re seeded 3-4 years ago are what is producing the stock going to the market correct! Last year 80K tonne were available tans they sold 20k tonne that leaves 60K tonne of frozen stock which this year nearly 40K tone have been sold we are talking frozen correct. So my books say still 20K tonne are in the fridge and we have not harvested any of this year’s stock. Of course a small percentage of live to the local restaurant market. So, profit made from sales seems to me to be the problem obviously the system works but who is buying the stock? most if not all sales are frozen stock or for canned abalone.
More habitats means more of the same so, until Oga find a market buying more live the SP is not going anywhere.
