New Hope Corporation Ltd (ASX:NHC) has reported a sharp drop in first half net profit, thanks to the weaker than expected thermal coal market.
The miner suffered a 31.9 per cent drop in profit of $68.795 million.
Looking ahead New Hope says the high Australian dollar will almost certainly pressure its full year result.
Investors will receive a fully franked interim dividend of six cents.
