WELLINGTON, June 7 (Reuters) - New Zealand seasonally adjusted wholesale sales fell 0.4 percent in the first quarter, Statistics New Zealand data showed on Tuesday.
Actual wholesale sales were 2.0 percent lower than the same quarter a year ago.
"As was the case last quarter, this quarter's fall in total wholesaling was led by the basic material industry," business indicators senior manager Neil Kelly said.
"The fall in this industry was led by reduced sales to the agricultural sector."
The data is one of the final components of gross domestic product data to be released on June 16.
