WELLINGTON, March 16 (Reuters) - New Zealand posted a smaller deficit in the final quarter of 2015, official data showed on Wednesday, in line with analyst expectations.
The actual quarterly deficit was NZ$2.6 billion ($1.72 billion)in the three months to December, down from a deficit of NZ$4.75 billion in the previous quarter, according to Statistics NZ data.
The seasonally adjusted quarterly deficit was NZ$1.9 billion. The annual deficit to was NZ$7.7 billion, equating to 3.1 percent of gross domestic product.
Economists polled by Reuters had forecast the actual quarterly deficit of 2.8 billion and an annual deficit of 7.9 billion.
