WELLINGTON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - New Zealand retail sales volumes rose a seasonally adjusted 1.2 percent in the fourth quarter, data from Statistics New Zealand showed on Tuesday, putting sales 5.3 percent higher on the year.
Economists had forecast a 1.4 percent quarterly and a 5.2 percent annual rise.
