WELLINGTON, Feb 16 (Reuters) - Consumer confidence in New Zealand slipped in February as New Zealanders returned to work from the holiday season, a survey showed on Thursday.
The ANZ-Roy Morgan consumer confidence index dipped to 127.4 from a 21-month high of 128.7 in the previous month. A reading above 100 shows optimism, while below that indicates pessimism.
"It's normal for confidence to ease in February as people go from holiday to work mode," ANZ chief economist Cameron Bagrie said, adding that the index rose from 124.3 to 125.4 on a when seasonally adjusted basis.
