News: New Zealand building consents rise in November

    WELLINGTON, Jan 11 (Reuters) - The number of new dwelling consents approved in New Zealand rose by a seasonally adjusted 1.8 percent in November compared with a 5.4 percent rise in the previous month, official data showed on Monday.

    Excluding apartments, flats, and retirement village units, the number of consents for new houses fell 0.3 percent, after a 0.3 percent fall in the previous month.

    Building consents were 17 percent higher than the same month a year ago and were at a 10-year high.
