    Some thoughts of mine. Yes it is true that Internet has disrupted the tv industry by offering another distribution route of content. I reckon there is a future with commercial television especially Aussie TV. Here are why

    1. Internet distribution channel is not free. You pay for receiving data. Someone has to get paid for providing the piping e.g. Telstra, TPG and etc. No matter how low is cost per bytes of data. In the limit, it is still not free.

    2. Sporting right. Australia has anti-siphoning law. Essentially TV has monopoly to sporting event such as Olympic, NRL and etc. Australia is a sporting nation. This will not change.

    3. Original, local and reputable programming. You can argue Netflix or Youtube or whatever source of entertainment. The truth is do you trust some youtuber news or a curated news? Netflix programming is USA centric. I am confident that there is demand for local content that is relevant to Australian context.

    4. Live programming. Facebook has live facility but the quality, the incentive and the consistency of crowd live programming are not there.

    5. TV can go and open digitial channel but not vice versa.
