MAp Group (ASX:MAP), the company that runs Sydney Airport, will have new leadership in the new financial year as Kerrie Mather steps into the role of managing director as well as retaining her current role of CEO.
Formerly known as Macquarie Airports, the company has reported strong growth this year. The late Easter holidays saw a 4.1 per cent increase of passenger numbers for April, including a significant 8.7 per cent increase in international passengers, no doubt buoyed by the strong Australian dollar.
Sydney airport represents 80 per cent of MAp’s earnings, and 90 per cent of MAp’s cashflow.
The company also owns Brussels and Copenhagen airports, where it describes recent passenger growth as pleasing.
In the second half of last year, MAp posted a profit of $51.7 million.
