From January to November, the total import of rare earth metal ore was 2,6965.4 tons, valued at 48.92 million US dollars (about 324 million yuan), with an average monthly import of 2451.4 tons.Mainly from the United States, Kenya, Thailand, Burundi, Greenland, Mauritania, Mongolia and Australia, eight countries, of which imports from the United States accounted for 95.36%. It is estimated that the annual import will reach 29,500 tons. The average import price is 1.81 US dollars / kg, equivalent to RMB 12.28 yuan / kg, that is, 12,000 yuan / ton. Assuming that the imported ore is a concentrate containing 40% of rare earth oxides, it is equivalent to 30,000 yuan/ton (REO). Generally, the proportion of niobium oxide in rare earth metal ore is about 20%, then these imported rare earth ore can produce about 2,150 tons of (NdPr) niobium oxide, and the market value of tantalum oxide is 320,000 yuan/ton. About 688 million yuan, the apparent value-added amount can reach 364 million US dollars, eliminating the concentrate processing cost and separation cost, can obtain a relatively high profit.
