It’s truly a shame that the article author didn’t see through the non-science being deluged about the safest rare earth chemical separation plant in the world that Lynas now has in full production at Kuantan.
There in NO unsafe radioactivity in ANY part of the process, from the Mt Weld mine in WA to the final products and residues in Kuantan. If the whole process had been in Australia, or anywhere in the world except Malaysia, all material would have been below the world threshold limits for ‘radioactivity’ - but Malaysia set its threshold ten times lower than the rest of the world (so my standard house bricks would be slightly ‘radioactive’ in Malaysia, as would many foodstuffs, all tin mining residues, most of the land on which newer Kuala Lumpur houses are built, etc. etc.)
It’s truly bizarre and highly suspicious that this WORLD’S ONLY manufacturer of RE elements OUTSIDE CHINA whose products are uniquely critical to ALL modern wind generators, ALL IT products with colour screens, ALL electric vehicles and modern machinery, etc is being attacked and threatened with closure.
This would leave China as the total monopoly RE producer.
Who benefits from this??
