Leighton Holdings Limited (ASX:LEI) has won a $249 million contract to provide services to the Isaac Planes coal mine in Queensland's Bowen Basin.
The three-year contract includes the operation of a dragline and the supply and maintenance of mobile plant and equipment.
Under the contract, Leighton will employ about 160 people at the mine.
CEO Hamish Tyrwhitt says the range of mining services covered in the contract reflects the group's skills in the resource sector.
Isaac Plains, a joint venture between Sumitomo Corporation and Vale Australia, is located in Central Queensland.
Leighton generated a net profit of $360.2 million in the first half of fiscal 2013.
