Leighton Holdings Limited (ASX:LEI) has responded to reports the company's knowledge of corruption was far greater than believed, saying it takes the accusations seriously and is deeply concerned about the suggestions of impropriety.
Leighton says it is not aware of any new allegations or instances of a breach of its ethics.
The construction giant says the Iraq investigation and the construction of the barge in Indonesia are exceptional instances that are the subject of either an ongoing confidential investigation by the AFP or litigation commenced by Leighton Holdings which is before the courts.
The company reiterated the information previously disclosed on February 13, 2012.
Leighton says it continues to cooperate with the AFP while it undertakes its investigation.
Leighton generated a net profit of $360.2 million in the first half of fiscal 2013.
