Leighton Holdings Limited (ASX:LEI) Asian division has been booked to build the Australian Embassy in Indonesia. The construction company says the contract is valued at about $230 million and will be delivered as part of a joint venture.
Construction work in Jakarta will start straight away and is expected to continue for three years.
Leighton was involved in the development of the current Australian Embassy in Indonesia in the early 1990s and has been involved in constructing Australian Embassy’s in Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos.
Leighton Holdings reported a net profit of $106 million in the first half of its 2012 financial year.
