I would suggest that the idea of the My Health HbA1c Test would be to ease the congestion and burden placed on public hospitals, for what is a routine test. Given that their lab has received NATA accreditation, it's easy to envision reimbursement for these at home tests. There'll be (maybe already is) a system whereby home test kits will be automatically shipped to patients with pre-, T1 and T2 DM to ensure they comply with ongoing testing. Data will be stored on the ehealth register and made readily accessible for specialists.
Huge shift in healthcare trend from hospital-based care to remote monitoring so this is a no-brainer in my view.
