It is encouraging to see financial injection into the MY HEALTH TEST 2.6 million over three years of research with a Canberra uni. nevertheless i am struggling to picture a scenario whereby Australian whom have free access to Medicare and pathological test, will invest in such test so readily, and will go to the post office to send it, than wait for results, when they have it for free.
A family member has a type 1 diabetes, that person has a free HbA1c every 3 months at the local public hospital, plus free consultation with a dietitian, Paediatrician and psychologist if required. now that HbA1c blood test is on the MY HEALTH (division), test list. why would a patient prefer to pay for a test when they can receive much more assistance and other supervision through their Medicare, the other day i had my yearly blood test, a small part of it was for cholesterol and(prostate) PSA . ( which are two tests out of four offered for a fee by MY HEALTH.) i than had a thorough discussion with my GP in relation to the blood tests. the whole experience has cost me less than $40.00. a gap payment.

i am invested heavily in ITD more so for the other two profitable division, and i do like the Autonomous self-tests that MY HEALTH division is offering as i believe that not far into the future, we will have much more flexibility as to how we self-diagnose, monitor and access information in relation to our own health, rather than have to rely constantly on the medical fraternity, i just struggle currently to see the transition to it, as it has to be convenient and execute on efficiency. i do believe that long term it will be profitable
As there are endless tests and feedback people like to have about themselves and their pets.
