Sierra Leone arrests former defence minister in graft crackdown
A former Sierra Leone defense minister and his deputy were arrested on Friday as part of a crackdown by President Julius Maada Bio’s administration on alleged graft by its predecessor, the country’s anti-corruption commissioner said.
Sierra Leone authorities also arrested Victor Foh, the vice president under Koroma, whom Bio succeeded in April, and Mansaray Minkailu, Koroma’s mines minister, in July on graft charges. The two are currently standing trial.

The impulse to corruption in a country as dirt-poor as Sierra Leone would be difficult to resist. We retail shareholders cannot know whether ILU is caught up in this. It is almost certain attempts to broker, ahem, 'facilitation payments' will have been made.
