I think their is a strong argument based on debt maturities and hedging in the US oil patch that oil prices won't rise significantly until most US hedge positions and debts mature.

You can see that irrespective of the rig count falling dramatically in the last weeks the oil price hasn't really reacted. Larger less leveraged players just fill the void by pumping harder on the sweet spots IMO.

From what I have read, DLS's debt maturity is longer than most of the US shale patch, so it has an advantage in this sense and the costs of its conventional business are low compared to industry standards.

That doesn't necessarily mean paying a $1/share now represents short or mid term value IMO. Will I have got a return from my $1 in one year from now? In my best estimation and from what I think the oil price will do, probably not.

What's the point of a forum if we can't express opinions. Sure we could just sit back and listen to so called more informed posters on the company provide a running commentary on every announcement or post links to interesting articles from the internet, but that doesn't try and answer the fundamental question most people want to know. Does the price at any one time represent value?

I say currently no, others have another opinion.
