News: East Africa Resources explores Datlaa gold project

  1. East Africa Resources (ASX: EAF) has completed a detailed geological mapping program at its Datlaa Gold Project located in Eastern Rift, Tanzania, while sampling assaying gold and tungsten.

A limited channel sampling program of 30 samples returned results of up to 2.35 grams per tonne gold.

In addition, three grab samples were analysed for multi-element determinations, with one sample returning 183ppm tungsten.

The objective of the geological mapping and sampling was to better understand the scope and controls of mineralisation and alteration zones from previously reported sampling programs and to identify quartz reefs/vein stockworks between the main zones of mineralisation already mapped and sampled.

The historical and recent mapping has identified complexly folded trends in four structural domains moving from east to west in the licence and prospect area. The geology has also been interpreted using satellite imagery.

East Africa's flagship uranium projects in Tanzania include the Mkuju joint venture that surrounds Uranium One’s (TSE: UUU) Mkuju River deposit that holds 32,750 tonnes of uranium at 439ppm.

At its current $2 million market cap, there looks to be more upside than downside.
