Downer EDI Limited (ASX:DOW) has been awarded a $142 million contract for works in Western Australia’s Pilbara region.
The engineering company says the contract is for electrical and instrumentation works.
Work is expected to start by the end of 2011 and to be completed by the second quarter of 2013.
In August Downer said that it had $20 billion work in hand and that it was well placed to capitalise on the pipeline of opportunities in the resources and energy sectors.
In the 2011 financial year Downer EDI booked a net loss of $27.7 million.
