Think you will find the discrepancy is the carryover from a Million dollar day in June 2018 that didnt get fully paid for until the next quarter.
This may be why they had the MDD in November this year instead of December like last year when the carryover ( or receivables if you like) skewed the 3rd Q of 2018.
Smoothing out, I reckon would be one reason and Black Friday another, perhaps.
