It’s been a torrid 24 hrs on this forum, there’s been many posters who I have a great deal of respect for express an opinion and that is their right, for me I prefer to see how things unfold over the next six months maybe that’s a little naive but I feel it would be folly to make an emotional comment at this time
I have held CCE shares for many years now and make the following observation
1) Wave energy always interested me and in the early days I had a choice of 2 Companies in which to invest, one was Carnegie and the other was a Company ( which went belly up ) called I think Oceanlinx which I believe still has a generator floating off the coast at Carrickalinga SA ( maybe I would have lost less money if I had chosen Oceanlinx).
2) Over the years the SP has bounced around depending on the news of the day, I have seen a name change from CWE to CCE which many would perceive as an effort to break away from a pure play wave Company into a Company that has a broader vision for the future. I have seen the purchase of EMC in an effort to bring in a revenue stream that would help fund CCE’s ambitions, I have seen CCE become a world leader in Wave Technology, I now see the sale of EMC and the retraction of CCE back into what it does best a Pure Play Wave Company
3) I believe, with the benefit of hindsight, CCE could have done it better and yes I believe many mistakes have been made, I hold a touch over 2,000,000 shares which I purchased on and off over the years with the price that I paid being from 3c to 6c so my holding is a reasonable one. This never was a stock for mum and dad investors just take a look at Telstra, who does ever get it right. I have made the choice to invest in a new exciting technology, I new the risks.
I have been told by a higher authority that the money that Has been invested in CCE could have been better invested in the purchase of a new 4WD and caravan enabling us to travel around Australia in our retirement which maybe true but with CCE it’s not all over yet, there is still more to be done and it is with this thought that I hold judgement until another day
