Yes.
You can sell your shares anytime after the strike date for the new issue which was at least 1 month ago.
You could even have sold the original shares and used the cash to purchase the new issue.
This would have been the sensible option if you have held the original shares for more than 12 months (entitling you to 50% CGT) and didn't intend to increase your exposure to BGA by hanging onto the news shares as well as keeping the original.
This is not an option for me as my origination shares were bought in Dec 16 and so it is more cost effective for me to sell the new issue when I receive them.
