I am not saying one or the other (hence waiting for now). By short attack, I was referring to a market-wide short attack as opposed to a stock-specific attack.
The way I see it is that first comes the melt down and then some explanation will be attached to it (e.g. worrying about XXX, Trump, etc). It boils down to what plan/view those at the top have for the market.
This move after weekend China news was bound to happen even if everything was rosy (if it wasn't worrying about Trump, it would have been OPEC meeting or something else).
Best case scenario is that it lets those exited prior to G20 (for de-risking) to get onboard again.
Worst case scenario is that it is the beginning of another serious down move in bear market.
What is important IMO is the next move, which may tell us what plans master players have in mind.
