Congrats to the holders on the big gap up. I shorted it - lol. I believe it partly gapped up on the comparable store sales, which sounded good. However looking at the comparable transaction growth, they are simply increasing sales by cutting margins as far as I can tell - so the comparable sales increase looks profit-less to me.

Also bad is that their items per basket is shrinking, however that may be explainable by the new self check-out, as you feel you can duck in for one or two items, as it doesn't take as long to get out of the store as it used to. That is one are where Aldi can't really compete, as they position their stores out of the way of foot traffic.

Just my 20c worth. I'll not be trading this one very long - I don't have a strong aversion to WOW and will happily long or short it again on the next bit of news.
