The problem is that the religious instinct comes from the unconscious and whether it's true or not, spirituality probably started when Homo sapiens appeared and is unlikely to go away anytime soon.
That could be due to evolution giving humans something more than the rest of the animal kingdom or a pure accident.
Saying you've heard of evolution isn't going to help either as we don't know how evolution really works.
In order to understand evolution we also need to get a handle on epigenetics --a relatively new science.
So saying words like evolution doesn't disprove the possibility of God-- note God needs not be a Sky Daddy.
God may be a potentiality that we cannot know or understand because our brain isn't up to the task of knowing a concept like God.
