Flush Tone where is it stated that they have approval for an open cut mine?
My understanding is several years ago Anglo were going to start working on the documents for the process of applying for an open cut mine but chose to put the mine and coal handling facility up for sale. They have not submitted any documentation or received any approvals for an open cut mine.
I see a lot of risk for Tinkler in trying to get an open cut mine approved for Dartbrook.
Though they have got a bargain for the coal handling and preparation plant, they just need some coal to process.
Maybe they should look at Rio's Mt Pleasant mine next door which has all its mining approvals.
