Amcor Limited (ASX:AMC) will acquire a selection of US assets from Constar International Holdings, after inking an asset purchase agreement.
The company says the transaction is expected to be completed through a court-supervised process under the US Bankruptcy Code which is anticipated to conclude during the first quarter of 2014.
The US business currently operates six plants with annualised sales of approximately US$190 million.
Amcor says it is an attractive fit with Amcor Rigid Plastics.
The company says it will release more details, including the final purchase price, after the bankruptcy process concludes.
Amcor generated a net profit of $628.4 million in fiscal 2013.
