Actually those who are calling for the government to stand firm against these waves of industry PR are merely asking that the science (which we were assured underpinned what was sold to the local population as a “gold standard” of regulation) is respected.

it would seem that industry now wants people to believe that there are two kinds of science. The bad science which they agreed with for 7 years and now the good 
science which they hope will dig them out of this hole of their own making. Nobody is fooled - not even you TGN if you are honest. I am sure Claire Perry can see just how ridiculous the government would look if it caved in to this pressure and then there were more quakes. She thinks she’s a future prime minister ( yes I know) so she doesn’t
want to end up looking like a Grayling.
