Sept 6 (Reuters) - Australia's AGL Energy (AGL) said on Wednesday it was committed to closing its Liddell Power Station in 2022, a day after Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull signed a deal with the company regarding its sale.
Turnbull said Tuesday that he had secured an in-principle deal with the company to sell the coal-fired power station to another operator to continue its operations beyond 2022.
The company said it continued to assess the capacity that would be needed post 2022 to replace Liddell.
