you are kidding aren't you? latency dictates who has first look and therefore first option to buy/sell in the HFT world where speed is king.

lowest latency in the algo HFT world is worth $billions and is the primary concern of market makers who flip 10,000 shares every second.

you need to watch a few Nanex videos to see what effect latency has if you still think it doesn;t matter.

However I don't think this high speed is what this thread is about.
