The "tech" is not that exciting to be honest .. most of the work is done by software - ContextCapture - we use it for our drone 3D capture processing - Nearmap fly 5cm GSD .. we fly 10mm to even 5mm or 2mm pixels .. and usually have terrestrial imagery as well - even indoors - and we even add terrestrial laser scan data for improved accuracy.

The camera set up and overall data processing must be pretty crazy - I've heard rumours about the NEA set up at Amazon. I know how long it takes us to crunch 50,000 photos into a mesh .. ;-p

No two ways about it .. 3D mesh will change a lot of industries .. 3D mesh = true orthphotos .. point clouds .. all sorts of other deliverables beyond a simple measurable mesh.
