The key point is that although I am extremely comfortable to be an investor in this country (our future looks bright) there is a big world out there and we have to start planning to become global investors in an increasingly globalised world.

Apart from the fact that there are quality assets out there to add to portfolio returns you also introduce the right kind of risk mitigation (ie risk that you get compensated for).

The problem to date has been that the mechanics of international investment for the private investor either werent there or werent up to scratch.
The managed alternatives left a lot to be desired as well.

I can see myself owning Toyota, Procter & Gamble, GE etc in the near-ish futute
