I like the working title.

The really good news out of this for the short term is that by awarding CST a $1m development contract the US military are clearly demonstrating their faith in the Quantiferon technology. You would have to think that this augers well for their uptake of QuantiferonTB-Gold after FDA approval (real soon now).

We are now starting to see the long term aims of CST come to view. That is, to use the patented Quantiferon base technology to develop a range of diagnostic tests. We now have TB covered and lymes, CMV and Leishmanias in the pipeline. As the procedures and equipment for each will be essentially the same, it will be very simple for authorities to add new diagnostic tests to their arsenal as they become available. This is particularly relevant to the US military where uniformity and efficeincy are important.

What's the bet that this new test will be released in "In-Tube" format?

I eagerly await the rumoured development of their new test Quantiferon-Stupidity, unfortunately though it will be a little late for those who sold yesterday. :)
