Still early days for the back door tactics, but that option is there. We all can see through that.
I had posted the comments made by QLD's premier in my post yesterday (quoted frm the Australian), wherein the QLD govt's more then happy for Shell or a major player to develop this project. End of the day, as long as the state govt gets its royalties, jobs are created & things are done in a sustainable manner, the FIRB shouldn't b an issue.
So far, IMHO, BG have demonstrated this well enough, so what will stop Shell-PTR, one might wonder apart frm a rival bidder? What worries me though, is the lack of bidding competition. CNOOC who r bigger then PTR are already with BG, so who else is out there !!
BG have got what they were after. Since missing out on Origin, they strategically took out AGK's share in QGC, then Sunshine, Pure, Roma, finally QGC, then got CNOOC as a 5% partner + 3.6 mtpa * 20yrs sales deal for LNG. Think they've got their handsfull for now in QLD's CSG sector.
Not sure at this stage, how much more can Arrow squeeze frm Shell-PTR, one might just have to wait & monitor further developments.
