    I was born and raised in W.A. and still have family there. The problem with W.A.'s economy like QLD is that mining is a huge part of the economy and when that fluctuates so does W.A.. Fifteen years ago you could get a job a lot easier doing all sorts of things.
    W.A. is such a big state as well but the population is focused on the south of the state. Still though the mining industry is the driver of that economy.
    Qld is similar which is why the government keeps allowing coal mines to open in places where no industry should be allowed to develop because it just causes to much damage to the water table and environment in general.
