In a recent post Sabine posted a link, in relation to the Dalgaranga project see https://www.australianmining.com.au/news/dalgaranga-two-months-gold-production/ On the RHS margin one can read, “Newcrest ups Wafi-Golpu development cost to $US2.8b”. If you Google Wafi-Golpu you will learn its in PNG, and the project is some years in the future, but it may, or may not, be an opportunity for NWH. This project is a Newcretst JV with Harmony, a South African gold miner. The information I saw includes the words that follow:
Development of the mine is likely to be more than five years away, with Newcrest saying on Monday that development would take 4.75 years after the awarding of a special mining lease from the PNG government.
It was unclear on Monday how long it would take the miners to obtain a special mining lease, but Harmony chief executive Peter Steenkamp said in February that it could take "up to the middle of next year or so to get all the mining leases and things sorted out".
