I have studied the criteria for this round of applications and I know where they are going in area terms as it is quite clear that there is going to be an increase in access in certain Public Health Network Areas.

South Eastern Melbourne, South Perth, Eastern Melbourne, Western Sydney, Central Coast Brisbane North and South will get them as they have less than 0.5MRI (full) per 100,000 population
Adelaide , Gold Coast, Western Melbourne Western Victoria Northern Sydney and most Rural areas will miss out. As they have between 0.7 and 1.6 full MRI per 100,000 population.

The current process will be ultimately decided by the Health Minister but will be advised by bureaucrats so I do not think that there will be much meddling. The biggest risk is that they go to one company.
